Bio/ CV

Born 1984 in New Haven, CT

Lives and works in Chicago, IL

I am an interdisciplinary creative professional and artist who works well both independently and collaboratively.  My ability to take a vision  from conception to execution has allowed me to work on a myriad of projects as an illustrator, coordinator, fine artist, and business manager.

My independent projects have focused on perception and ideas of place and placelessness.   I use painting as a primary means of engagement because it provides me with a technical interaction unlike any other means of discovery.  I am fascinated by the way a single image or a series of images communicates an idea with a viewer, specifically that embraces an enthusiastic adventurous outdoor spirit.  I am drawn to art and design that embraces and captures this type of energy, understanding “place” from an actual and psychological point of view, and travel- what catches one’s attention when faced with novelty, curiosity, the sublime, and the beautiful.  For me, art is a way of telling that compelling story, a motivating spark to imagine oneself on a journey, and visualize abstract concepts of location.
